So one of my guilt pleasures is checking on the blog over at hookedonhouses.net and today is a Hooked on Friday’s blog party where bloggers share what we are hooked on.
As you can see from some of my previous posts, I am still in the middle of our remodel and so most of my current obsessions revolve around the idea of actually finishing the work and enjoying the peace and quiet. Next week we are expecting a major project to start- new windows and siding. I am definitely hooked on that right now.
Even though was have already picked the color and style of the windows, siding and trim. I find myself checking out houses as I drive by or show them to clients and wondering if we should have picked this color or that color.
If you are wondering what we have chosen here is the break down. Vinyl replacement windows on the 2nd floor where the trim was already painted white before we moved in. The first floor windows are getting wood windows on the interior with vinyl outside so that they can be stained to match the darker wood trim inside. The extrior siding is vinyl (Cape Cod Gray) with the 3rd floor in a cedar shake (Sunset Cedar). White trim around the windows and a white trim board at the bottom and btwn the 1st and 2nd floors. I think it will all look pretty snappy when it is done.
So after annoying the contractor to death I imagine with our constant calling and fretting, the project begins next Wednesday with the windows. I will keep you posted on how it turns out…and what the next project is, as there always is a next project in my household!
