What Type of House is This? Cincinnati Home Styles
July 15, 2008
Wondering what style your house is? Well this is the place to find out. Every Tuesday I am going to post a new housing style in Cincinnati, until I run out

Today’s style is the “American Four Square”. Very common in Hyde Park and Mt Lookout, the four square is also called the praire box. They were built from the 1890s- 1930s. Four Squares are generally 2.5 stories tall, with a four room plan, two on either side of a central staircase. The also have a large central dormer on the top floor and a large front porch.
